This is a letter to verify that Russell Higgins was an employee of Goshow Architects from March 26, 1990 to March 31, 2010. Mr. Higgins was initially hired as a Project Architect to perform construction administration services for us. Over the years his role evolved as he assisted in many key areas of the practice. When he left the firm in March 2010, his final title was Associate.
During his tenure with us, Mr. Higgins's responsibilities included construction cost estimating, building inspections, exterior restoration projects, construction administration, project management, specification writing, project cost tracking, quality control, and participation in proposal preparation, fee preparation, and client interviews.
Mr. Higgins also played a vital role in the development of our IT infrastructure. He oversaw our growth from an initial network of 5 workstations to the approximately 40 workstation network that we eventually became. For a number of years, he was also a member of the office's management team.
His strengths include his love of learning and teaching (he often acted as a mentor and resource for the younger, less experienced staff members), and his organizational skills (i.e. creating instructions and manuals for IT and staff use). He is a thorough planner as well. For example, in his IT work, his contingency planning allowed us to continue providing our clients with uninterrupted service through all emergencies as well as the infrequent equipment failure.
In March of this year, due to economic conditions beyond our control, Mr. Higgins was part of a work force reduction. However, he is skilled in many areas of architectural practice and is a cooperative, dedicated employee. He would be a valuable addition to any office he wishes to join.
