Estimating
I'm told I'm good at estimating.
I suspect it's a combination of:
Construction Administration experience.
Hands on construction experience.
MEP engineering experience.
Endless research and reading about the nuts and bolts of building.
Vivid imagination.
The example to the left is for a post Katrina evaluation of a major community center.
This is the best I've ever done. Given little more then one line diagrams and photos I turned out a FEMA acceptable detailed cost estimate for a nearly 10 million dollar multiuse center
Though I've done the same for projects from homes to ice rinks.
How To Estimate
Instructions for jr. staff to enable them to usefully contribute to cost estimating projects without leaving too much work out.
